New Delhi: There should be a cricket match between India and Pakistan, it is not only the cricket fans of both the countries, but the fans of every country who watch and like cricket want. This wish can be fulfilled in Asia Cup or World Cup. But at the moment, due to the conflict between the cricket boards of both the countries, this also does not seem to be possible. In the midst of all this, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi, has raised a different issue – the India-Pakistan Test series.
Here, the situation regarding the organization of Asia Cup has not been cleared yet. The ongoing conflict regarding this is creating hurdles in the 2023 World Cup as well. There is not much time in both the tournaments, but even now their solution has not been found. The Pakistani board’s stubborn stand on this remains intact, but despite these controversies, Najam Sethi is seeing ‘Mungeri Lal Ke Haseen Sapne’.
Test dream in England-Australia
According to Pakistani media reports, apart from the controversy over Asia Cup and World Cup, Najam Sethi is dreaming of organizing a Test series between India and Pakistan. Talking to Pakistani media, Najam Sethi said that there are possibilities of bilateral test series between the two countries and for this he has told England, Australia and South Africa as suitable places.
Sethi believes that if the stadium is housefull with spectators at any of these places, then a Test series is possible there. For this, Sethi described England as the best venue but also said that it is possible there too if spectators come to fill the stadium in Australia.
Haven’t played Test cricket since 2007
No Test series has been played between India and Pakistan since 2007. However, this is not the first time that there has been talk of organizing a Test series between the two teams in Australia or England. Until about two years ago, the cricket boards of England and Australia have also proposed to host the Test series between the two countries, but each time they were rejected.
