India vs South Africa T20 Series: India’s hopes of making a world record are over. Rishabh Pant-led Team India suffered a 7-wicket loss to South Africa after stellar performances from David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen. The duo shared an unbeaten 131-run partnership to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.
Chasing a mammoth target of 212, South Africa got off to a good start before Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Temba Bavuma. But Dwayne Pretorius, who was promoted to No. 3, smashed Yuzvendra Chahal and Hardik Pandya for 29 off 13 balls to attack India. Then, India made a mini comeback with Harshal Patel removing Pretorius and Axar Patel sending back Quinton de Kock. South Africa still needed 131 runs to win.
But then the hero David Miller, who won the title of Gujarat Titans, appeared. An aggressive miller broke India’s bowling attack in the middle overs. Rassi van der Dussen struggled at the start but that too came back to life after being dropped by Shreyas Iyer on 29.
David Miller scored 75 runs in 46 balls, while Rassie van der Dussen scored 64 runs in 31 balls to win the match by 7 wickets.
