Australian captain Pat Cummins returned home only after the second Test against India. Steve Smith is leading the team in his absence.

New Delhi. The mother of Australian captain Pat Cummins, who left the tour of India and returned home, died on Friday. She was ill for a long time. Cummins returned home after the Delhi Test to spend time with his mother Maria. To pay tribute to Maria, the Australia team came to the ground on the second day of the fourth Test match being played against India in Ahmedabad, i.e. on Friday, wearing a black band.
Cricket Australia also expressed its condolences while giving the news of Cummins’ mother. Cricket Australia said that we are all saddened by the death of Maria Cummins. On behalf of Australian Cricket, we express our condolences to Cummins and his family. Australia’s team will come on the field by tying a black band.

Cummins’ mother also fought with breast cancer
Pat Cummins’s mother was ill for a long time. In 2005, she came to know about breast cancer for the first time. She was battling a serious illness for the last few weeks. The BCCI also condoled and said that our prayers are with Cummins and his family in this difficult time.

Australia returns to Indore
Under the captaincy of Cummins, Australia had lost both the opening Test matches. Australia returned to Indore and opened their account in the series. India is still ahead 2-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Cummins scored a total of 7 runs in the first Test and took 2 wickets. While in the second test he scored 33 runs and took 1 wicket.
