There will be uncertainty regarding the India vs Pakistan (IND vs PAK) ODI World Cup match at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Even after the announcement of the World Cup 2023 Schedule, it seems that the India vs Pakistan (IND vs PAK) ODI World Cup match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is yet to be decided. Uncertainty will remain. The Pakistan Cricket Board has to get a green signal from the Pakistani government to travel to India for events. Now according to media reports, if the Pakistan government is concerned about the security then the game will be shifted to Chennai. There will definitely be a decision in the next few days. As of now, India will play Pakistan on October 15 in Ahmedabad.
An ICC spokesperson had said, “Pakistan has signed a participation agreement for the competition and we expect they will be there and there is no indication to the contrary.”
After the announcement of the World Cup schedule, the PCB clearly stated that its playing depends on getting approval from the government. A PCB official said, “Our playing in the World Cup and playing in Ahmedabad on October 15 or in Mumbai if we reach the semi-finals depends on the approval from the government.”
While an ICC spokesperson said, “All members have to follow the law of their country and we respect that.” But we are sure that the Pakistani team will come to India to play the ODI World Cup.
