There is good news for the cricket lovers of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium has got the green signal from the ICC and the BCCI for the World Cup 2023. A clean chit has been given after the board’s teams inspected the stadium. The team of BCCI and ICC visited the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium i.e. Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The team consisted of 18 members. All the pitches were inspected here, along with the arrangements for the security system were also tested. Let us tell you that five matches of the World Cup 2023 are to be organized in Lucknow. In which India vs England (IND vs ENG) match is also included.
Due to the preparations of the world, the team that arrived for inspection removed the covers of all the nine pitches of Ekana Stadium and examined them. Along with this, fire prevention and security related arrangements were also tested. The team also saw the seating arrangements for more than 50,000 spectators here. Apart from this, also saw the flood light and the drainage system used during rains. The team also asked questions regarding the pitch from the pitch curators here. According to officials of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, if it rains during the match, then the game can be started by re-preparing the ground within just half an hour.
The visiting team saw the medical and umpire room on the ground floor of the four-storey stadium. After this, saw the dressing room located on the first floor, the Platinum Lounge and the Owners Lounge on the second floor. Apart from this, a corporate box has been built on the third floor and a presidential gallery has been built on the fourth floor, which was reviewed.
Before the World Cup, the round of inspection of stadiums is going on continuously. The teams arriving for the tour have also inspected the stadiums in Chennai, Bangalore and Trivandrum. The practice matches will be played in Trivandrum. The committee reached here has suggested changes in the corporate box and player areas of the greenfield.
