‘I salute them…’ Mohammad Kaif recites ballads in praise of blind cricketers ahead of IBSA World Games 2023
Anticipation for the International Blind Sports Federation i.e. IBSA World Games 2023 Birmingham is growing with each passing day as blind cricket gears up for its maiden appearance at the mega event. More than 1250 athletes and officials from 70 countries will participate in the IBSA World Games 2023, organized by the International Blind Sports Federation. At the same time, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has read ballads in praise of Blind Cricket Teams.
The Cricket Association for the Blind in India last week announced the captains for both the men’s and women’s Indian blind cricket teams that will represent the country at the World Games 2023. The CABI had also unveiled the jerseys for both the men’s and women’s teams ahead of their debut at the World Games 2023 in Birmingham.
Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadsannavar, Chairman, CABI, Mr. Shailendra Yadav, Secretary General, CABI, David Elobson, Hon. IBSA Secretary General and IBSA Joint Secretary Munawwar addressed a press conference here on Monday. Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also graced the event and boosted the morale of the athletes.
Speaking at the conference, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif said that “we players are not able to play good cricket at times and these players are playing the game and excelling in it despite not being able to see clearly. This is something we should appreciate. I salute them and also salute CABI and IBSA. I am here to support him and I urge everyone to support him. All the best to the Indian team. My message to them is just go and enjoy the game and I wish them to win the tournament.”
