Former India coach believes that Hardik Pandya should take charge of the ODI team after the World Cup. There is speculation that Hardik will replace Rohit Sharma as the regular captain in the T20 format.

Regarding Hardik and Rohit Sharma, Shastri said, “After World Cup 2023, I think he (Hardik Pandya) should take over the captaincy in white-ball cricket. Rohit should lead India in the World Cup, no question about it.”

India lost to England in the T20 World Cup semi-final match and Australia in the WTC final match. The BCCI has announced the squad for the ODI and Test series for the West Indies tour but is yet to announce the squad for the T20I series. Hardik is set to lead the side during the five-match T20I series against the Windies.
