Hardik Pandya will take charge of the ODI team after World Cup 2023? Ravi Shastri reacted
The ODI World Cup 2023 is still four months away. But Ravi Shastri is already thinking about who will lead the team after Rohit Sharma in ODIs. Former India coach believes that Hardik Pandya should take charge of the ODI team after the World Cup. There is speculation that Hardik will replace Rohit Sharma as the regular captain in the T20 format.
Regarding Hardik and Rohit Sharma, Shastri said, “After World Cup 2023, I think he (Hardik Pandya) should take over the captaincy in white-ball cricket. Rohit should lead India in the World Cup, no question about it.”
Let us tell you that Indian fans are furious with Rohit Sharma because under his captaincy, Team India has failed to win two ICC trophies. India lost to England in the T20 World Cup semi-final match and Australia in the WTC final match. In all likelihood, the 50-over World Cup in 2023 will be the last ICC event that Rohit will be in charge of the team.
Talking about Hardik, he has been at his best in IPL as well as T20 captaincy. Hardik is the designated white-ball vice-captain of Team India and a worthy contender to lead India in the white-ball format after Rohit Sharma stepped down from the leadership. The BCCI has announced the squad for the ODI and Test series for the West Indies tour but is yet to announce the squad for the T20I series. Hardik is set to lead the side during the five-match T20I series against the Windies.
