Hardik Pandya needs to score runs with the bat, former Indian wicketkeeper expressed concern about Pandya’s form
Team India, led by Hardik Pandya, has lost the five-match T20 series (IND vs WI T20) against the West Indies by 2-3. Team India had scored 166 runs while batting first in the decisive match, in response to Brendan King’s unbeaten 85 runs, the team won easily and won the series. Meanwhile, former wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel has expressed concern about captain Hardik Pandya.
After the defeat against the West Indies, many questions have been raised on the captaincy of Captain Hardik Pandya and he has also faced criticism. In such a situation, Partiv Patel also believes that Hardik could have used his bowlers properly against the West Indies. However, he has also expressed concern about Hardik.
Partiv Patel told Cricbuzz that “Hardik Pandya against Nicholas Pooran gave that over to Akshar Patel and did not bowl to Yuzvendra Chahal. The bowling variation and the use of bowlers is something that tells me that India captain Hardik is still a work in progress.”
Patel said that “there is some concern about Pandya and obviously his batting in the series against Australia either in the Asia Cup or before the World Cup. They need runs. He hasn’t scored runs in IPL, he hasn’t scored runs in the last few series as well. India would like to score some runs for Hardik.”
