The final match of the Caribbean Premier League 2023 was played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders, which Amazon Warriors won by 6 overs and 9 wickets. With this, Imran Tahir-led Guyana Amazon Warriors have won the first title in the history of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2023). In the final, Guyana has given a crushing defeat to Shahrukh Khan’s team Knight Riders.
Guyana got the target of only 95 runs
Guyana had decided to bowl first after winning the toss and their decision proved to be absolutely correct. Because Guava had bowled out Trinbago Knight Riders for just 94 runs in 18.1 overs. However, Guyana chased this small target and completed it in just 14 overs at the loss of just 1 wicket. With this, Guyana, under the leadership of Imran Tahir, has won the first title of the Caribbean Premier League.
Sam Ayyub played a brilliant innings
Star batsman Sam Ayyub has played a brilliant unbeaten innings for Guyana. Actually, he scored unbeaten 52 runs in 41 balls with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes. Apart from this, Shai Hope scored unbeaten 32 runs in 32 balls. Together, both of them made an unbroken partnership of 84 runs in 69 balls. Ayyub won the match by hitting a six.
Guyana won the title for the first time
Guyana Amazon Warriors have also been runner up five times in the Caribbean Premier League. But the team’s wait ended in the year 2023. Before this, the team had also been runner up in the years 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2019. However, the team has got its first title in CPL 2023.
