Team India coach Rahul Dravid will be very happy because despite falling behind in the Test series, India has made a comeback. In the second test match played in Visakhapatnam, Team India defeated England by 106 runs. The series has been leveled with this match and now the eyes are on the third Test to be held in Rajkot. Even before this match, the head coach of Team India has expressed his opinion on an important issue, on which eyes were fixed even before this series. This is such a matter on which Dravid even said that it was beyond his understanding.
The test match played in Visakhapatnam ended on the fourth day and the Indian team registered victory. Earlier, the Test match played in Hyderabad also lasted till the fourth day, where England won. The most special thing about both these Tests was that the matches went till the fourth day and not ended on the second or third day, which was being anticipated before the start of the series and this happened because the pitches of both the matches were suitable for batting. It proved to be good.
What did Dravid say on the turning pitch?
In fact, in the last few years, in the Test series held in India, the pitch started turning from the very first day, due to which the matches were not lasting long. The teams and media of England and Australia often cried about this. This time also the same doubt was being raised but it was not seen in both the matches. In such a situation, after the victory in Visakhapatnam, when Dravid was asked whether the pitch will be similar in the coming matches, Dravid said that he cannot say anything about it because the work of making the pitch is the responsibility of the curator and the team management can do it at any time. ‘Rank Turner’ i.e. does not ask for pitches that spin from day one.
Even Dravid doesn’t understand this
Dravid said that many times, like other people, he too does not understand how the pitch will behave. According to the Indian head coach, sometimes what is told to him is different from what is said during the match. Dravid said that there will be turn in Indian pitches but he cannot tell how much it will be and when it will happen. Dravid said that many times he is told that the pitch will turn from the first day but it does not happen even till the fourth day, whereas many times it is said that the pitch will turn from the third-fourth day but it starts turning from the first ball itself.
