Many young players have made their place in the Indian cricket team, some of whom will soon be a part of the team for a long time. A new batch of young players also seems to be getting ready to challenge these players, the first glimpse of which was seen in the Under-19 Asia Cup. In its first match of the Under-19 tournament in UAE, Team India defeated Afghanistan by 7 wickets. Arshin Kulkarni and Musheer Khan were the stars of this victory of Team India. Team India registered an easy victory due to the all-round performance of both the players.
This tournament, important for preparations, started on Friday 8 December, just before the Under-19 World Cup to be held in February 2024. Team India faced Afghanistan in the first match of its group at the ICC Academy in Dubai. The Indian team, captained by Uday Saharan, had bowled out Afghanistan for only 173 runs. Raj Limbani and Kulkarni took maximum 3-3 wickets for India.
Team India’s easy victory
In reply, Team India had a bad start and lost two wickets for only 32 runs. Captain Saharan also could not last long and by the 20th over the score was 76 runs for 3 wickets. From here opener Arshin Kulkarni got the support of Musheer Khan. Both of them lasted for the next 18 overs and took the team to the target of 174 runs. Arshin returned unbeaten after scoring 70 runs and Musheer 48 runs and thus Team India registered a strong victory in its very first match.

Jeet’s star cricketer’s brother, doctor’s son
There was a lot of discussion about Musheer Khan before this match. Everyone’s eyes were on this all-rounder from Mumbai because he is the younger brother of young Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan. About 9 years ago, Sarfaraz also made his debut in the Under-19 team in Dubai itself. This time his brother got this opportunity. Eyes were on Musheer also because he is an all-rounder and he did not disappoint in the very first match. Musheer first took 1 wicket by spending 27 runs in 7 overs with his spin and then scored 48 runs in 53 balls to lead the team to victory.
Arshin Kulkarni is also an all-rounder, but he is different from Musheer and perhaps can be more important for Team India in the future. This is because he is a medium pacer all-rounder, who can not only open in batting but can also open in bowling. Arshin, son of a doctor couple from Solapur, Maharashtra, is the first athlete in his family and his performance is enough to show that his decision was right. Arshin took 3 wickets for 29 runs in 8 overs with his medium pace and then played a fighting innings of 70 runs in 105 balls to take the team to victory.
