Chennai: In IPL 2023 season Chennai Super Kings Continuing to make strong progress. MS Dhoni’s captaincy has a big role in the team’s success. Along with this, their young opener Rituraj Gaikwad also has a big role, who is giving the team a good start in almost every match. He also made a strong debut against Punjab Kings, but before that he made a mistake that surprised everyone.
Chennai batted first at Chepauk Stadium. Rituraj and Devon Conway were at the crease for the team. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh started for Punjab and the very first ball was wide. Rituraj made a mistake in the first over
Actually this ball was far outside the off stump and Rituraj did not try to play the shot on it. Rituraj expected that the umpire would call it wide but it did not happen. This is where the Chennai opener made a mistake. He used the new rule, under which players can take review on wide and no ball.
Rituraj also took DRS on this and here also the result was against him. The third umpire upheld the on-field umpire’s decision after watching the replays. The result was that CSK lost one of the 2 reviews in the first over itself. The commentators also expressed surprise at Rituraj’s decision and called it wrong to spoil the review in the very first over itself.

could not play long innings today
However, Rituraj did not let this affect his batting much and formed another excellent partnership with Devon Conway. Both made an excellent partnership of 86 runs in 58 balls. However, after a fast start, Rituraj looked somewhat tied and its effect came out in the form of his wicket. In the 10th over, on the ball of Sikandar Raza, he went ahead and tried to play a big shot but got stumped out. Gaikwad played an inning of 37 runs.
