Chennai: Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Rinku Singh and captain Nitish Rana once again pulled the team out of a difficult situation and led the team to victory. Rinku and Rana scored brilliant half-centuries against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday and defeated Chennai in an important match. Both of them made a great partnership at a difficult time and forced Chennai to defeat. However, both missed out on a century partnership.
Had the Chennai team won this match, they would have qualified for the playoffs, but Kolkata did not allow this to happen and the reason for this was the Rinku-Rana pair. Rinku completed his half-century by hitting a four off the last ball of the 16th over. Earlier, when both these teams had clashed at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, Rinku had scored a half-century but he could not lead the team to victory. This time he made up for this shortcoming. With this victory, Kolkata avenged the defeat from Chennai.
recover from initial shock

Rinku was dismissed on the first ball of the 18th over due to a direct throw by Moin Ali but he had done his job before returning to the pavilion.
Rinku faced 43 balls and scored 54 runs with the help of four fours and three sixes. Once again he told that he has the power to win the match for the team. Rinku got player of the match for this innings.

Rana played the captaincy innings
Rana also played the kind of innings that Rinku did. He also got a lifeline. On the second ball of the 11th over, Patirana dropped Rana’s catch off Moin Ali’s ball. Here Rana was only on 19 runs. Rana took advantage of this lifeline and then returned unbeaten to win the team. Rana gave the team victory by hitting a four on the third ball of the 19th over. Rana scored an unbeaten 57 off 44 balls with the help of six fours and a six.
With the brilliant innings of Rinku Singh (54) and captain Nitish Rana (57 not out), Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Chennai Super Kings by six wickets at their home. Had Chennai won this match, it would have booked the playoff ticket, but now its wait has increased. Chennai batsmen did not play much in this match and this team could only score 144 runs in 20 overs losing six wickets. Kolkata achieved this target in 18.3 overs.
