Ireland achieved a historic victory over West Indies in the last match of the three-match series. In the deciding match, Ireland chased down the target of 213 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 44.5 overs. Ireland took the series 2–1 with a win in the deciding match. Ireland won the ODI series for the first time against the West Indies. Ireland’s Andy McBrine gave the team success with excellent all-round performance. McBrine was also adjudged Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
Team Ireland lost the first match
After losing the first one-day match at the hands of West Indies, Ireland team made a tremendous comeback and won the remaining two matches tremendously. In the three-match series, he got the first match by winning the second match. Batting first, West Indies scored 212 runs in the deciding match. Ireland chased down the target and got it easily.
Very bad start in the deciding match
