Dubai. International cricket is in danger from leagues like Pakistan Super League, Big Bash. The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is concerned about the security of international cricket. He has appealed for immediate intervention to save international cricket. MCC says that amidst the busy schedule, it is getting influenced by the domestic league. Many new franchise leagues were entered including SLT20 and ILT20. Due to its excess, there is a lot of pressure on the FTP of ICC. This is affecting the number of matches of weak member countries.
India, Australia and England, who are part of the Big Three, get the lion’s share of international tournaments, while smaller Test-playing nations like Afghanistan, Ireland and Zimbabwe do not get to play many matches against top teams due to the very busy FTP.

Meeting aimed at saving international cricket

What will global cricket look like in In a statement issued on Friday, the MCC said the men’s cricket schedule in 2023 is packed with franchise tournaments, competing with the recently released ICC FTP till 2027.
Conflict in international and franchise cricket
MCC further said that international and franchise cricket are constantly clashing. This is not the case only during ICC tournaments. IPL is the only tournament among domestic tournaments when conflicts with international cricket can be avoided. The MCC further said that unlike the men’s programme, the ICC Women’s FTP program till 2025 is very clear and there is no conflict between international and domestic leagues. Former India captain and World Cricket Committee (WCC) member Sourav Ganguly said that try to strike the right balance between franchise and Test cricket.
