The Central Government’s Copyright Society team has filed a case against the IPL (IPL 2023) team Gujarat Titans in the Gandhinagar court for copyright infringement. The case was registered because the team played two Gujarati songs ‘Hello Maro Sambhalo’ and ‘Mara Palavano’ during the break during the IPL match in violation of the Copyright Act. After which the action is going on against the team.
Gujarat Titans, representing Gujarat in IPL match, case has been registered in Gandhinagar court. An appeal has been made by M/s Recorded Music Performance Ltd. under the Copyright Act 1957 stating that two Gujarati songs were played during the break without the required copyright. The Gandhinagar court has also sent notice to Gujarat Titans for further hearing.
Gujarat Titans and DNA Entertainment Network Pvt Ltd have assured the court that they will not allow the song to be played in upcoming matches. M/s Recorded Music Performance Limited filed a claim against Gujarat Titans in the Gandhinagar Commercial Court. Let us tell you that today the second qualifier of IPL 2023 will be played between Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians. In this match, both the teams will start playing at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad from 7.30 pm.
