Before IPL 2024, the father of Rajasthan Royals’ young all-rounder Ryan Parag has made a special appeal to the franchise. Parag’s father Das Parag asked Rajasthan Royals to make his son bat at number 4. In an interview, Parag Das said that the T20 tournament is completely different from other domestic tournaments and playing his son at a certain batting position will help the team. He said that in domestic cricket, he is continuously playing at number 4, which is giving him enough time to get into the rhythm and plan the innings in his own way. Das Parag said, 100% he should bat at number 4.

Riyan Parag is in sensational form in the domestic circuit. The right-handed batsman scored 552 runs in just 9 matches in the recently concluded Syed Mushak Ali Trophy (SMAT). Earlier, Parag had also scored 350 runs in Deodhar Trophy. Due to his recent performance, he may get his first chance in the Indian team for the T20 series against Australia starting later this month.
Parag Das further said that his son needs some time to settle down at the crease and he can become a match winner for his team. Ryan’s father said that he is a player who needs some time to settle down. Once he gets his grip, he can take the match deep and lead his team to victory. He can play as per the situation.
Despite being given ample opportunities by Rajasthan Royals, Riyan Parag has not lived up to the expectations so far. Talking about Riyan Parag’s statistics in IPL, the 22-year-old player has played 54 matches and scored 600 runs at an average of 16.22. He plays at a strike-rate of 123.97 and has also taken four wickets with the ball. In IPL 2023, Ryan scored just 78 runs in seven innings, in which his highest score was 20.
