Bangladesh cricket team is currently under the scanner. Bangladesh men’s team’s match was against Sri Lanka on Monday in the ODI World Cup-2023 being played in India. But questions are being raised on the team’s sporting spirit due to captain Shakib giving time out to Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews. Meanwhile, Bangladesh women’s team has also made headlines. Bangladesh women’s team is currently on a tour of Pakistan and is participating in the ODI series. In the second match of this series, Bangladesh fought fiercely and tied the match and then won the match in the Super Over.
Bangladesh team batted first in this match. However, the team could not score a big score. Even after playing full 50 overs, this team was able to score only 169 runs after losing nine wickets. After this the team’s bowlers showed a strong performance. The bowlers of Bangladesh women’s team also bowled out Pakistan for 169 runs in 49.5 overs.
Won the match in super over
After this the match went into super over. Pakistan batted first in the super over but the team could not play the entire over. The team could score only seven runs after losing both its wickets in five balls. But after this, Bangladesh’s Nigar Sultan gave victory to Bangladesh by hitting a four on the last ball of the super over. Earlier, the Bangladesh captain won the toss and decided to bat first. The team’s batsmen batted very slowly. Captain Sultana scored the maximum 54 runs for the team. He faced 104 balls and scored 54 runs losing three wickets. Apart from him, Fargana Haq played an inning of 40 runs in 88 balls.
Bowlers showed their strength
Bangladesh’s batsmen did not do anything special but the team’s bowlers showed excellent performance. He did not allow Pakistani batsmen to score runs. Pakistani batsmen could not stand against the Bangladeshi bowlers. None of Pakistan’s batsmen could go beyond 30 runs. Sadaf Shams scored the most runs for the team. He played an innings of 29 runs in 83 balls with the help of three fours. Captain Needa Dar scored 27 runs and was the second best scorer of the team. Nevertheless the match had reached a very exciting situation. Nashara Sandhu tied the match by running out Fahima Khatoon on the fifth ball of the last over. This was Pakistan’s last wicket and after this the match went into super over.
