New Delhi: Virat Kohli’s bat had not scored a century in the Test for a long time, but he made up for this shortcoming in the fourth Test match played against Australia in Ahmedabad. In this match, he played a brilliant innings of 186 runs and after 2019 scored the first century in the Test. Earlier, he scored a Test century against Bangladesh in 2019. This was Kohli’s 75th international century. Kohli’s kind of batting has been praised by everyone and this includes former Australian opener Mark Waugh.
Mark Waugh had earlier criticized Kohli. However, the reason for this was not the batting of the Indian batsman but the fielding. Kohli had missed some catches in the slips in the first Test match played in Nagpur. As soon as Kohli scored a century, Mark Waugh also joined those who praised Kohli. But still Mark Waugh believes that Kohli was not in his best form.

Kohli showed class
Mark Waugh believes that the innings played by Kohli showed his great class but it was not his best. Speaking to Fox Cricket, Mark Waugh said, “The drought is over. The doors have opened. You could tell just by looking at him that he is in his prime. He played very few shots which were risky. He was batting very patiently. He was hitting bad balls. As far as his Test career is concerned, I don’t think he was in his best form… But it showed his class.”
Hope in WTC Final
Kohli ends his century drought in Tests. The Indian team has made it to the final of the ICC World Test Championship where it will face Australia. Both these teams will clash in the final of the World Test Championship at The Oval ground. It still has about three months to go. Before this Kohli will play in IPL. Team India will hope that Kohli will maintain his form and score a century in the final to win the title for India.
