Australia announced a 17-man squad
Australia’s selected team for the World Test Championship and Ashes series is looking very strong on paper. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned fully fit in the team. Both the bowling and batting of the team are fully equipped with their experienced players.
Australia have relied on the pace quartet of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Scott Boland for both the WTC and the Ashes. The pace quartet will get strong support from Nathan Lyon and spinner Todd Murphy, who made an impression on his India debut. At the same time, all-rounders like Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh will be seen giving support to Paes.
David Warner also got a place in the team
The biggest question in Australia’s team selection for the WTC final and the Ashes series was about David Warner. Due to Warner’s out-of-form, there was doubt about his selection. But, the management has kept its faith in him. Meaning he can be seen starting the innings with Usman Khawaja. Apart from these, Matt Renshaw and Marcus Harris have also managed to make their place.
