Stefanos Tsitsipas made it to the final of the Australian Open for the first time by defeating Karen Khachanov in a 4-set match.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has made it to the finals of the Australian Open. She beat Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals. After losing 2 match points in the third set, Tsitsipas made a good comeback to defeat Khachanov in a 4-set match on Friday and made it to the men’s singles final of the Australian Open tennis tournament for the first time. Third seed Tsitsipas eventually won the match 7-6 (2), 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3.
In the final, he will face the winner of the second semi-final between Novak Djokovic and unseeded Tommy Paul of America. Tsitsipas had not progressed past the semi-finals three times in the Australian Open before this.

failed to convert match point
Tsitsipas has reached the final of a Grand Slam for the second time in his career. After winning the first two sets against Khachanov, Tsitsipas was serving to win the match at 5-4 in the third set. He got 2 match points in the meantime, but he failed to capitalize on both of them.
The rhythm achieved in the fourth set
After this, Khachanov pulled the set to the tiebreaker and then kept his hopes alive by making it his name. Tsitsipas, however, regained the rhythm at the beginning of the fourth set and took a 3-0 lead. After this, he did not look back and made this match his name.
Eyes on the first Grand Slam
Sitsipas also reached the final of the French Open in 2021. Apart from this, he could not progress so far in any Grand Slam. In 2020 and 2021, he reached the third round at the US Open. Earlier in 2018, reached the fourth round at Wimbledon. Now his eyes are on winning the first Grand Slam.
