With an emphatic win over Pakistan, the Indian team reached the top of the Asia Cup 2023 Super-4 points table.
India has topped the points table by registering a win against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super-4 match. With this defeat, the Pakistani team has slipped from the top in the points table to third place. Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, defeated Babar Azam’s Pakistani team by 228 runs and topped the points table, leaving behind both Pakistan and Sri Lanka in net run rate.
So far, India and Sri Lanka have played one match each in Super-4 while Pakistan has played two matches. Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs in its first Super-4 match while Pakistan, after defeating Bangladesh by 7 wickets in its first Super-4 match, lost to India by 228 runs in the second match. Now in their next match of Super-4 India will face Sri Lanka on September 12.
At the same time, Bangladesh team is already almost out of the race for the final after losing its first two matches in the Super-4 of Asia Cup 2023. Bangladesh team will play its last Super-4 match against India on 15 September.
