Indore: Team India, which defeated Australia in two consecutive Test matches within three days, has now reached the verge of facing this fate itself. Indore Team India, which got beaten twice within two days of the third Test match being played in India, is not far away from the first defeat in this series. Australia will chase the target on the third day of the match and it needs only 76 runs. Obviously it is not going to be easy but still Australia has the upper hand. Despite this, Team India’s fast bowler Umesh Yadav has still not given up hope seeing the nature of the Holkar Stadium pitch.
The first two Test matches played in Nagpur and Delhi ended in the second session of the third day itself. In Indore, however, it is seen to end in the first session of the third day itself. In this Test match, 30 wickets have fallen in two days. 14 wickets fell on this pitch on the first day of the Test, which started on Wednesday 1 March, while 16 batsmen were dismissed on the second day on Thursday. The spinners are getting a lot of turn from the pitch while the uneven bounce has increased the difficulties of the batsmen.
how to stop australia
Australia had gained an 88-run lead in the first innings, which also reduced the effect of India’s score of 163 runs in the second innings. Team India also knows that victory is closer to Australia. After the second day’s play, Umesh admitted that the team did not score enough runs, yet his team would have a chance. Umesh said,
Anything can happen in cricket. We will try our best and bowl steak line and length. It is not an easy wicket, be it our batsmen or theirs. Coming out of the crease and playing shots is not easy.
The experienced Indian pacer said, the ball is also staying low, so you are not sure about getting out of the crease. Runs are short but we will bowl on the right lines and take the game as far as possible.
Record will have to be made
On this pitch, the ball is getting dangerous spin from the first half hour of the first day and in such a situation, it will not be easy to score 76 runs in front of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Akshar Patel in the fourth innings. Despite this, India will have to break the record of 141 years to win on this score. The smallest score in Test cricket has been 85 runs, which has been successfully saved.
Umesh told the formula of success
On the other hand, in the first session of the day on Thursday, Umesh took three wickets while bowling brilliantly, due to which Australia lost their last six wickets for just 11 runs and the team was dismissed for 197 runs. Umesh bowled Mitchell Starc and Todd Murphy after LBW to Cameron Green. He said, my plan on this pitch was to bowl straight to the stumps and get one or two wickets. As a fast bowler, I had to hit the pitch and get the ball in the right areas. I have played most of my cricket in India and hence my mindset is always to take wickets.
