But a decision had to be taken between India and Sri Lanka regarding the second team. India had to win the Ahmedabad Test for this. Sri Lanka’s condition worsened in the very first Test played in Christchurch. The result was that India got the ticket for WTC Final even before reaching any result of Ahmedabad Test.
