Visakhapatnam: Indian team’s young batsman Shubman Gill was selected by the senior selection committee of BCCI in place of Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI team. He had clearly told that Gill is the choice of the team as an opener for the ODI World Cup to be held this year. Gill also justified the performance of the selectors in ODIs this year i.e. 2023. He also scored a double century in ODIs this year, but Gill’s bat has remained silent in the current series against Australia. No big innings has come from Gill’s bat in both the matches played so far.
In the first match played against Australia at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, runs did not come off his bat. This right-handed batsman was dismissed after scoring 20 runs. After this, it was expected that Gill would do well in the second ODI, but in this match it became difficult to even open his account. He could not even open the account after playing two balls.
