Godiyal said, “We will meet party general secretary KC Venugopal and if needed, will also meet Rahul Gandhi and will put up the matter before him. I hope there will be a solution.
In response to a question, he said that it would be foolish for anyone to think of sidelining Rawat. He said, ‘A leader like him, who enjoys the affection of the people and is acceptable to all, is not in any party in Uttarakhand.’
Godiyal denied that there were multiple factions in the party. He said, ‘The entire Congress is standing with Harish Rawat. There is no factionalism in the party.
When asked about Rawat’s differences with the Congress in-charge of party affairs in Uttarakhand, Godiyal did not give a direct reply, but said it is the responsibility of the party in-charge to take everyone along.
