New Delhi: Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, a new trouble seems to arise for the Samajwadi Party. The Election Commission on Saturday gave notice to the SP for breaking the COVID-19 protocol and sought a reply in 24 hours. But during this, a statement of the party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav has come to the fore.
In this they are saying that – We did not know what a virtual rally is. We thought that some people will be in front and the rest will be shown virtually through the camera, but those who have come have come, we did not call anyone. Because unless there is a mic in front of the leaders and some people are not there, the matter does not work out.
It is worth noting that on Friday, a huge crowd had gathered in the SP office when Akhilesh Yadav had invited the leaders who had left the Bharatiya Janata Party to join the SP. Later, a team of Lucknow Police visited the party office claiming violation of the model code of conduct of the Election Commission as well as the COVID-19 protocol.
Let us inform that amidst the fear of Omicron variant of COVID-19 in the country, the Election Commission had banned political parties from gathering crowds in any kind of rally or public meeting till January 15. But many workers had reached this program of SP.
The Lucknow DM also said that the event was organized at the SP office without prior permission of the officials and an FIR was registered for breaking section 144 and under the Epidemic Act. Case registered under Section 144, 269, 270, 341, 188, 54 Disaster Management Act 3 Epidemic Act Epidemic Act.
Responding to this, SP UP chief Naresh Uttam Patel said that there was a crowd at the doors and markets of BJP ministers, but they have a problem with us.
Violation of the Election Commission’s order gave the BJP an opportunity to attack Akhilesh Yadav and his party and Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi called the SP members corrupt, dishonest and not following any rule or law.
