On one hand, the level of pollution is increasing in Delhi. Currently, Group 3 restrictions have been implemented in Delhi. At the same time, continuous burning of stubble is being said to be the main reason behind pollution. In such a situation, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai considers the bad weather as well as BJP ruled states as the major reasons for this pollution. In fact, BJP leader Harish Khurana has blamed the incidents of stubble burning in Punjab for pollution.
Harish Khurana claims that from September to October, about 12 thousand incidents of stubble burning were reported in Punjab, but the Delhi government is blaming Haryana beyond its responsibilities. On this, Gopal Rai said that the restrictions are being strictly followed in Delhi but the people of Haryana and the state are being careless. No guidelines are being followed at both the places.
Gopal Rai further said that scientists believe and according to the estimates of the Meteorological Department, a special weather situation is prevailing in which the wind speed is very low, the temperature is also going down, in such a situation the entire North India. The pollution particles inside are going into the atmosphere. There is a situation of stagnation due to lack of wind. Now due to this stagnant situation, people are feeling burning sensation and difficulty in breathing. If we see, currently AQI remains in the serious category.
For Delhi and in view of that, we have now decided that at least within Delhi because CAQM issues its guidelines for the entire Delhi NCR, but everywhere else it is flouted. But we have decided that we will implement it strictly within Delhi because we have to do our part honestly.
Regarding stubble burning, Gopal Rai said that this is not the time for mere rhetoric. He said that there are BJP ruled states all around Delhi. The rules which are being followed in Delhi can be implemented in UP and Haryana. The central government should do this much. He said that the Chief Minister of Haryana sits in Chandigarh, he has no idea what is happening in Haryana around Delhi, whereas Haryana is full of pollution. More problems will increase on Diwali.
Primary school closed till 10th November
On the Delhi government’s decision to close primary schools in Delhi till November 10 and to give the option to shift classes from above till 12th to online, Gopal Rai said that in the Grape 3 which was implemented recently, private schools will be closed for two days. Schools were closed. Now the situation is visible that there is no wind, so it seems that the situation is going to remain like this for 8-10 days. That is why instructions have been given to close primary classes of schools till the next 10th.
