On Thursday, Shikohabad MLA Dr. Mukesh Verma, Bidhuna MLA Vinay Shakya and Dhaurahara MLA Bala Prasad Awasthi, including Food and Drug Cosmetics Minister Dharam Singh Saini, have resigned from the primary membership of the BJP. All of them are being said to go to the Samajwadi Party.
After the resignation of Dharam Singh Saini, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has posted a picture with him on his Twitter account.
Lucknow: In the politics of Uttar Pradesh, just before the assembly elections, something is not going well for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the last few days. One after the other his ministers and MLAs are leaving the party.
On Tuesday, Minister Swami Prasad Maurya and two MLAs had resigned from the BJP. On Wednesday, another minister Dara Singh Chauhan left the BJP.
Thursday’s day was even more shocking for the BJP. On this day, four MLAs, including a minister, left the party.
AYUSH, Food Safety and Drug Administration Minister Dharam Singh Saini resigned from the post of minister. He is the third minister to resign from Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet in the last three days. There is speculation of all three joining the Samajwadi Party.
In the resignation letter sent to Governor Anandiben Patel, Saini has written, “As Minister of State for AYUSH, Food Safety and Drug Administration (Independent Charge) in the Council of Ministers of Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he has discharged the responsibilities with full dedication. But the expectations with which Dalits, backwards, farmers, educated unemployed, small and middle-class traders worked together to form the government of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a thumping majority, due to their continuing neglectful attitude towards them and their people’s representatives in Uttar Pradesh. I resign from the council of ministers.

After Saini’s resignation, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, welcoming him in the party, tweeted, ‘With the arrival of Dr. Dharam Singh Saini, another warrior of social justice, our ‘positive and progressive’ will bring everyone’s reconciliation. Politics’ has got more enthusiasm and strength. Hearty welcome and greetings to him in SP. In twenty-two the victory of inclusiveness-harmony is certain.
Akhilesh has also shared a picture of himself with Saini on Twitter. However, Saini has not yet clarified which party he will join.
It is worth mentioning that Saini, who belongs to the Backward Classes, is an MLA from Nakud Assembly seat of Saharanpur. Saini is considered close to Swami Prasad Maurya.
After Maurya’s resignation on Tuesday, the news of Saini’s resignation was also in the news, but late in the evening he had issued a video message saying that he would not leave the BJP.
At the same time, according to a news of India Today, Saini has claimed that till January 20, there will be resignations every day in Uttar Pradesh. Earlier, Swami Prasad Maurya had also claimed while leaving the BJP that after his departure, a dozen MLAs would leave the BJP.
However, apart from Saini, the three MLAs who have left the BJP on Thursday include Shikohabad MLA Dr. Mukesh Verma, Bidhuna MLA Vinay Shakya and Dhaurahara MLA Bala Prasad Awasthi.
Shikohabad MLA Dr. Mukesh Verma had resigned from the primary membership of the BJP by issuing a letter.

In a letter sent to BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh, Verma wrote, “No attention or respect was given to the backward Dalits and minorities in the BJP.”
Verma said that due to ignoring the voices of backward, dalits, unemployed, youth and medium and small scale businessmen, shopkeepers etc. and not getting justice to them, under the leadership of Swami Prasad Maurya, he is the primary BJP leader to continue this fight. Resigning from membership.
In the letter, he wrote, ‘Swami Prasad Maurya ji is the voice of the oppressed and oppressed section and he is our leader. I am with them. The BJP MLA has also sent a copy of this letter to the national president of the party.
At the same time, according to ABP News, Vinay Shakya, BJP MLA from Bidhuna assembly seat of Auraiya district, has also sent his resignation to BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh.
Expressing the support of Swami Prasad Maurya in his resignation, he has written exactly the same things that Dr. Mukesh Verma has written in his resignation.
Significantly, before the resignation of Vinay Shakya, his daughter Riya Shakya had demanded the government to trace him, alleging that her father was missing.
A video purportedly of Vinay Shakya’s daughter Riya had gone viral, in which she alleged that her uncle Devesh Shakya and grandmother had taken her father to Lucknow. However, the police denied this.
At the same time, according to a news of News18, MLA Bala Prasad Awasthi from Dhaurahara assembly seat of Lakhimpur Kheri has resigned due to the neglect of Brahmins in the Yogi government. He was a four-time MLA.
However, there is constant speculation that all these leaders may join the Samajwadi Party.
Earlier on Tuesday, after Maurya’s resignation, two more MLAs had also left the BJP, including Banda MLA Brijesh Prajapati and Tilhar MLA Roshan Lal Verma. So far, 14 MLAs, including three ministers, have left the BJP before the elections.
