Kumar Gaurav, New Delhi: BJP core committee meeting is going on in Delhi, in which brainstorming is going on to decide candidates for 113 seats in western UP. According to the information received from the sources, this time BJP can cut the ticket of about 35-40 percent of the sitting MLAs.
Voting is to be held in two phases on February 10 and 14 in the seats for which the meeting is going on.
According to sources, the meeting of the Central Election Committee is scheduled to be held on Thursday. Earlier this meeting is being held so that the names can be considered and the list can be prepared. Then this list will be presented to the top leadership, so that the tickets can be stamped.
The meeting of the UP Election Committee was held in Lucknow on Monday. All the 24 members of the committee were included in this. In this meeting, a meeting was held regarding 113 assemblies and possible names were discussed. Now these names are being brainstormed in Delhi and now the list will be prepared and presented before the Central Election Committee on Thursday.
In selecting the candidates, the party is looking at the names from the state as well as the various surveys conducted by it. Only the winning candidates will be stamped. At the same time, caste and social equation is being taken care of.
According to sources, 35-40 percent of the seats may be cut for the MLAs whose performance has not been good. The special thing is that most of the leaders who are currently ministers in Uttar Pradesh and are members of the Legislative Council, they will also be made to contest elections this time. Preparation for this is also going on.
