Chandigarh: before the upcoming assembly elections In the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids from the house of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew, cash worth Rs 6 crore and some property papers have been recovered.
News agency ANI has written about that- During the search of the residence of Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew Bhupinder Singh and his associate Sandeep Kumar, some documents related to the property and Indian currency worth more than Rs 6 crore were recovered- Singh Received about 4 crores at K’s house and 2 crores at Kumar’s house.
With the information about the recovery of a large amount in the investigation, the ruling Congress in the state including the opposition CM Channi in Punjab has also been attacked. According to sources, the ED was searching the places of some relatives of CM Channi since Sunday morning in connection with illegal sand mining in Punjab. According to information, the ED raided more than 10 places in the state including the premises of Bhupinder Singh Honey, a close relative of CM Channi in Mohali. According to sources, Bhupinder had allegedly formed a firm named Punjab Realtors to get the sand mining contract.
As per available information, ED raids were also conducted in Homeland Society, where the son of CM Channi’s sister-in-law lives. The ED suspects that black money was invested in getting the sand mine contract. Sources say that the company is of a very small scale, which is unlikely to get contracts worth crores.
