New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted virtually with the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through the NaMo app in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. This was PM Modi’s first election interaction with party workers in Uttar Pradesh after the Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule for assembly elections in five states.
During a conversation with BJP party workers, PM Modi said, “Every vote is important, we should tell people the importance of voting.” He asked the party workers to encourage farmers for chemical-free farming.
PM Modi said, “We need to promote natural farming. Farmers should be encouraged for chemical-free farming. We should join everyone in the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.”
The Center has been promoting organic farming in the country since 2015-16 through dedicated schemes such as Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) and Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER). Both the schemes lay emphasis on supporting organic farmers, i.e. from production to certification and marketing.
Voting for 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will begin in seven phases from February 10. Voting in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3 and 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
