On the other hand, the BJP President of West Bengal opposed the removal of Parth, saying that he is being made a scapegoat.
Taking a jibe at TMC, he said, ‘They sacked Partha Chatterjee for making him a scapegoat. They were saying that he was not involved in it and now they have dismissed him. It was to be decided in the 5 pm meeting that Abhishek Banerjee wanted to take credit. But seeing the anger of the people, Chatterjee got premature delivery.
It is worth mentioning that in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress’s state general secretary and spokesperson Kunal Ghosh on Thursday demanded that Partha Chatterjee should be immediately removed from the post and also expelled from the party immediately.
According to ED officials, around Rs 50 crore in cash and gold have been recovered from Chatterjee’s apartment. Apart from this, documents related to some properties and foreign currency were also recovered, after which they were arrested.
Party spokesperson tweeted, “Parth Chatterjee should be immediately removed from the cabinet and all posts of the party. If my statement is found to be false, then the party has the right to remove me from all posts. I will continue to work like a soldier of Trinamool Congress.
Let us inform that Partha Chatterjee was in charge of the education department at the time of the alleged teacher recruitment scam in government schools and aided schools. Later this department was taken over from him. The ED had arrested him on Saturday in the money laundering case.
