On the other hand, the decision to expel the actor is being widely opposed on social media. It can be seen on Mane’s Facebook post that many people are speaking in his support.
Is it not cultural fascism?
Actor Kiran Mane was removed from tv serial ‘Mulgi Zali Ho’ by the Star Pravav channel.
Reason?
Mane was vocal on social media against fascist forces!

Also, the #istandwith_KiranMane hashtag is being run on Facebook and Twitter. People are attacking Star Pravah for this authoritarian decision and calling it intolerant towards anti-political voices and an example of Hindutva hegemony.
Although many Marathi TV and film actors have been expressing their social and political views in the past, but this is the first time that an artist has been left out of the show or film.

Senior actors like Sharad Ponkhe and Vikram Gokhale have openly supported the right wing and the views of Savarkar. At the same time, actress Kangana Ranaut had recently said that India got freedom from the British by begging, the real freedom was found in 2014.
Not only this, Gokhale even supported Kangana’s statement by holding a press conference. Still no action was taken against him by any filmmaker or channel.
Mane, on the other hand, has been reportedly removed from the serial for taking a stand against the current ruling government and its right-wing ideology.
However, while talking to a newspaper after the incident, Mane termed it as mob lynching and said, ‘You guys should remember that all this is happening in Maharashtra of Chhatrapati Shivaji, Sant Tukaram, Shahu, Phule and Ambedkar. Maharashtra should not tolerate this mob system. Let’s see what happens next in my case. If I get justice, many people will be able to come forward and muster the courage to speak.
He said, ‘People should decide which way they want to go. Read all my (Facebook) posts. You will not find the poison of casteism anywhere. You will not find that I have criticized anyone keeping my limitations in mind.
Mane further said, ‘When we used to work in theatre, we used to criticize Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Congress leaders also appreciated us for this. They didn’t say don’t criticize us or make any such threats, but now if we write even one sentence, we are threatened by saying how can you write it?’
However, the matter has also acquired a political dimension. Nationalist Congress Party leader and minister in the current Maha Vikas Aghadi government, Jitendra Awhad, expressed his anger on Twitter.
In his tweets, he wrote, ‘Kiran Mane who plays Vilas Patil in Star Pravah’s TV serial Mulgi Jhali Ho, has been abruptly evicted from the serial because he writes on social media and calls on Phule, Shahu and Ambedkar. Let’s follow the ideology of and question the central government on its wrong policies.
He further wrote, ‘Maharashtra has honored artists like Dada Kondke, PL Deshpande and Neelu Phule, while criticizing them (governments). Remember, it is wrong to attack someone’s livelihood just because they carried forward this intellectual tradition of Maharashtra and criticized you.
Similarly, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee secretary and chief spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil said, “Whatever happened in Kiran Mane’s case, it should be stopped.” Such a dictatorial attitude will not be allowed to happen in Maharashtra. According to the constitution, every person has the right to express his views. Congress will not tolerate attempts to hurt anyone’s livelihood to implement any one ideology. The party stands firmly with Mane.
