New Delhi: In Manipur, including Goa, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the battle of assembly elections has started. During this Congress has played a big bet in the northeastern state. Congress has selected Dr. KH Ratankumar Singh as working president of the committee in Manipur.
Let us inform that KH Ratankumar Singh had resigned from the post of Vice President of the party on Sunday. According to the resignation letter, he quit but did not resign from the primary membership of the party. Former education minister KH Ratankumar Singh had contested the 2017 assembly elections from the Mayang Imphal constituency, but failed.
The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections to be held in five states including Manipur. This time in Manipur, voting will be held in two phases. The first phase of voting will be held on February 27 while Whereas for the second phase, votes will be cast on March 3. Counting of votes for Manipur along with all the states will take place on March 10.
The term of the Legislative Assembly of the 60-seat Northeast state of Manipur ends on March 19, 2022. In such a situation, before this the process of government formation in the state will have to be completed. In the 2017 Manipur Assembly elections, BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 30 seats. Whereas Congress became the main opposition party with 28 MLAs. BJP formed the government under the leadership of N Birender Singh.
