Bharti said that alcohol is one of the reasons behind the rising crime against women in Madhya Pradesh.
Bharti, who supports complete prohibition, has been demanding for a long time to introduce a controlled liquor distribution system by changing the liquor policy of Madhya Pradesh to promote de-addiction.
Bharti reached a temple located at Ayodhya Nagar Square in Bhopal on Saturday (January 28) afternoon and announced that she would stay in the same temple for the next three days waiting for the announcement of the state government’s new liquor policy on January 31 and sit there to listen to the announcement. Will listen
He ended his four-day stay at the temple on Tuesday as the state government delayed announcing the liquor policy.
Addressing the media in the temple on Tuesday, Bharti said that the liquor shop just before the entrance of Ram Raja Sarkar at the mouth of Orchha in Niwari district of the state is illegal and due to the mistake of the law department, it has been taken from the court. Adjournment has been granted.
She said, “I will reach Orchha on Wednesday evening and hence I want to convert the bar into a gaushala the day after tomorrow (on Thursday). This would be an example. Rest I will wait for the new liquor policy.
She said that without waiting for the liquor policy, she will start converting the liquor shops running in violation of the rules into gaushalas.
Bharti said that he has asked people to arrange for 11 cows, which will be tied at the liquor shop in Orchha.
He said, ‘Let’s see, who dares to stop me? Will feed these cows and will also arrange water for them at the liquor shop.
According to the news agency PTI, he said that governments are being formed in the name of Lord Ram, but permission has been given to open a liquor shop near the Ram Raja Sarkar temple in Orchha.
Citing an anonymous report, Bharti said that BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh leads in crime against women and consumption of alcohol is one of the reasons for this disturbing trend. He said that the BJP is winning the elections because of the ‘magic’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The BJP leader said, ‘People have the option of choosing good or bad people in a democracy. When one has a choice between bad and very bad, people choose the bad, which is not an achievement. Forming a government is not a big deal, but the big thing is to develop a healthy society and ensure the future of women and children.
He alleged that a section of the BJP was trolling him over his campaign against alcohol consumption, linking it to his political ambitions.
Bharti said that she has held the position of chief minister, served as a Union minister and is now only to hold the position of prime minister, but very few politicians can hold that top position.
He said, ‘Will I get that post (of prime minister) because of the prohibition movement? A section of the BJP is spreading such things.
Bharti also threatened that she will now start disclosing things that ministers, MPs and MLAs talk to her, because such people are constantly meeting her.
Uma Bharti said that during a meeting with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, she had agreed to his suggestion of coming up with a ‘controlled’ liquor policy.
Earlier, while addressing a gathering, he had claimed that women do not want schemes like the recently announced Ladli Bahna Yojana (based on economically weaker section women), rather they want a controlled liquor policy.
Bharti said that women in Gujarat roam freely at night like ‘Lioness of Gir’ and eat ‘Bhelpuri’ at midnight, as liquor ban is in force in the state.
