New Delhi: Election ruckus is intensifying in five states of the country including Goa. After the announcement of CM candidate in Punjab on Tuesday, Aam Aadmi Party is going to announce its CM candidate in Goa today. AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will announce the party’s CM face in Goa today. Aam Aadmi Party has made this information public through its official Twitter handle.
Let us inform that earlier on Tuesday, Kejriwal has made Bhagwant Singh Mann as his CM candidate in Punjab as the Chief Minister candidate of Punjab.
It is worth mentioning that like every time, this time again voting will be held in Goa in a single phase on February 14. Whereas along with other states, votes will be counted here on March 10. The last time elections were held in Goa in a single phase in 2017.
Let us tell you that the term of the 40-seat Goa Legislative Assembly ends on March 15. The last assembly elections in the state were held in February 2017. Congress emerged as the single largest party by winning 17 seats, but it could not form the government. BJP won 13 seats and was successful in forming the government with the help of MGP, GFP and two independent MLAs. Manohar Parrikar became the Chief Minister of Goa, but after the death of Manohar Parrikar on 17 March 2019, Dr. Pramod Sawant was made the Chief Minister of the state.
