This comment by former BJP MP Harinarayan Rajbhar comes a few days after two alleged associates of Atiq Ahmed, accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, were killed in separate encounters by the UP police. Recently, Ateeq has also approached the Supreme Court stating that there is a threat to his life.

New Delhi: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Harinarayan Rajbhar said on Thursday (March 9) that gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed should be taken out of jail and killed in an encounter.
Rajbhar’s provocative remarks came days after two alleged aides of Atiq Ahmed, accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, were killed in separate encounters by the Uttar Pradesh Police.
According to the police, one of the accused killed in the encounter, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary alias Usman, was a wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. He was a resident of Allahabad.
Harinarayan Rajbhar, who was elected to Parliament in 2014 from Ghosi in Mau district, told reporters, “Atiq Ahmed conspired to kill while in jail. Atiq killed hundreds of people and forcibly occupied the land of the poor.
He said, ‘Atiq Ahmed is afraid of being killed in an encounter. There should be an encounter of all the shooters involved in the Umesh Pal murder case. After bringing Atiq Ahmed out of jail, he should be encountered. The doors of heaven will open in future for the officer who encounter Atiq.
Atiq Ahmed has recently approached the Supreme Court saying that he is in danger for his life. The UP police will seek his remand in connection with the case and will conduct a fake encounter.
Rajbhar was also asked about SP General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav’s statement that Ahmed’s son would be killed in a fake encounter in the coming days.
On this, the BJP leader alleged, ‘Ram Gopal Yadav gave birth to these criminals while in the government, taught them crime. He is still speaking in support of these criminals.
He said that the Mulayam Singh Yadav family ‘promotes such elements’. He has accused the SP leaders of being ‘merchants of death’.
Targeting Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party leader Om Prakash Rajbhar, the BJP leader called him an ‘accomplice of criminals’ and said that he should be in jail.
He alleged that Om Prakash Rajbhar and his sons were extorting money from businessmen and doctors.
He said, ‘They are committing these crimes under police protection. If the government does not pay attention now, then there is a possibility of more incidents like Allahabad happening in the near future.
However, expressing concern over the killing of two alleged aides of Atiq Ahmed, accused in the Umesh Pal murder case, in an encounter, BSP chief Mayawati asked whether the Uttar Pradesh government would follow the rule of law or eliminate criminals on the streets.
It may be known that BSP MLA Raju Pal was shot dead on January 25, 2005 in Dhumanganj area of Allahabad. Umesh Pal, who was the main witness in this case, was also murdered in broad daylight on the evening of 24 February. One of his (Umesh) security personnel has also died in this attack with bullets and bombs in Dhumanganj area of Allahabad itself.
Police have registered an FIR in this regard against jailed former MP Atiq Ahmed, his wife Shaista Parveen, his two sons, his younger brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf and others.
Former MP Atiq Ahmed and former MLA Ashraf alias Khalid Azim, the main accused in the MLA Raju Pal murder case, are currently lodged in jail.
In this case, an FIR was registered against a total of 11 people including Atiq Ahmed. The incident took place nine days after Raju Pal’s marriage to Pooja.
Pooja Pal, wife of BSP MLA Raju Pal, is SP’s MLA from Chail seat in Kaushambi district. The main motive behind Raju Pal’s murder is said to be the assembly by-election, in which he defeated Ashraf from the Allahabad (West) seat. It fell vacant after Atiq won the Lok Sabha seat from Allahabad in the 2004 elections.
Atiq Ahmed is lodged in Gujarat jail on the instructions of the Supreme Court, while Ashraf is in Bareilly jail.
Atiq is currently lodged in a Gujarat jail in connection with a 2016 case related to the attack on faculty members of an agricultural research institute in Allahabad. He is a former MP and a five-time MLA.
