Lucknow: On Monday, the police registered a case against BJP MLA Jai Mangal Kannojia from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh for breaking the COVID-19 protocol. According to the police, Kannojia was found infected with the corona virus, yet he was roaming outside.
According to the news of the Indian Express, a complaint was lodged in this regard by the Executive Officer of Maharajganj Municipality Alok Singh at the Kotwali police station, acting on which an FIR has been registered against the MLA.
It is alleged that the MLA from Maharajganj Sadar seat, despite being infected with COVID-19, was roaming in groups with people and meeting people in his constituency.
Kotwali SHO Ravi Kumar said that the sample of the MLA was taken on January 13 for the investigation of corona, in which he was found positive. After informing him in this regard, he was asked to stay in quarantine at home.
A case has been registered against the MLA under IPC sections 188 (disobedience to legal order by public servant) and 269 (spreading life-threatening infection by reckless act).
According to the SHO, no other member of the MLA’s family has been found infected. At the same time, he told that there are allegations that during the time the MLA was to stay in Quarantine, he also made some trips during that time, but this cannot be confirmed yet. There is no evidence available in support of this.
He told that at present the MLA is at his house in Maharajganj.
Muzaffarnagar: Case against three candidates and their supporters including BJP MLA
At the same time, a case has also been registered against another BJP MLA in Muzaffarnagar district of the state for allegedly violating the model code of conduct and COVID-19 rules set by the Election Commission.
Along with him, a case has also been registered against 60 of his supporters.
On Monday, the police said that the Indian Penal Code, the Representation of the People Act, the Disaster Management Act and the Epidemic Diseases Act were filed against BJP MLA Umesh Malik and 60 of his supporters, who were in the fray for re-election from the Budhana assembly seat, for violating the rules. A case has been registered under sections.
According to the police, the case was registered after people gathered to welcome Malik at Budhana in the district.
It is noteworthy that the Election Commission has banned rallies and gathering of people till January 22 in view of the increasing cases of corona virus.
In Muzaffarnagar district itself, a case has been registered against another BJP candidate.
In a separate case, a case was registered against BJP candidate Prashant Gurjar and 30 of his supporters after they gathered at Miranpur in the district on January 16, police said.
He told that after the announcement of BJP’s candidate from this seat, when Gujjars came to the town, the supporters had gathered to welcome them.
Apart from this, a case has also been registered against Salman Saeed, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate from Charthawal assembly seat in the district itself and dozens of his supporters for allegedly violating the model code of conduct. Noida: Case registered against BJP MLA for violating COVID-19 rules
An FIR has also been registered against Tejpal Nagar, BJP MLA from Dadri assembly seat, for violating the rules related to COVID-19 while campaigning in his constituency for the assembly elections.
Nagar has been fielded again by BJP from Dadri assembly seat.
Police Commissioner Alok Singh’s spokesperson said that Sub-Inspector Ravindra Singh, posted in police station Bisrakh, lodged a complaint with the police station that on January 16, Nagar, along with more than five people at several places under Dadri assembly constituency, went door-to-door campaigning for BJP. did.
