The Congress party alleges that many of its candidates were beaten up by TMC-backed goons.
The Congress party has also accused the TMC that its supporters had stripped the Congress candidate of Ward 16 in front of everyone. Similarly, Congress candidates and leaders were brutally beaten up in the presence of several police officers in Ward 45. Congress says that since the police department and the state administration did nothing in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation elections and helped the goons in some places, so there Human rights violations took place on a large scale.
