Before voting in Mizoram Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the BJP-led NDA government has given priority to bridging the gap between Delhi and the northeastern states. In a video conference address to the people of Mizoram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the commitment of the BJP-led NDA government to bridge the physical and psychological gap between Delhi and the northeastern states.
He stressed the potential of Mizoram as a global tourist destination and the positive impact of infrastructure development on trade, talent and tourism.
The Prime Minister noted a significant transformation in the areas of Mizoram under the BJP-led government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed the commitment of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to create a ‘wonderful Mizoram’. He emphasized that the residents of the electoral state are like family members to him.

The Prime Minister highlighted the efforts of the BJP-led central government in enhancing Mizoram’s infrastructure, including the railway network, health care facilities, sports development and other sectors. Citing Mizoram’s rich natural beauty and vibrant culture, he has also recognized its potential to become a global tourist destination.
Prime Minister Modi referred to his earlier promise to promote transformation in Mizoram through better transportation. He said that significant progress has been made in various fields under the leadership of the BJP-led government.
Development and public welfare is our priority
These statements come as Mizoram prepares for the upcoming elections, with the BJP demonstrating its commitment to the development and welfare of the state.
Mizoram is one of the five states where assembly elections are being held, with voting for the 40-seat assembly taking place on November 7. The current Mizoram Assembly, led by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, is scheduled to end its term on December 17.
And the counting of votes will take place on December 3, and the results will be declared on the same day. In the 2018 elections, Mizo National Front won majority with 26 seats.
