BJP has expelled Sandeep Dayama from the party for his controversial statement regarding Gurudwaras. Sandeep Dayama is the former municipal chairman of Tijara Municipality. BJP leader had given a controversial statement regarding Gurudwaras. However, after the protest by the Sikh community, Sandeep Dayma released a video and publicly apologized for his statement.
There was an uproar after the controversial statement given by BJP leader Sandeep Dayma regarding the Sikh community during the election campaign in Tijara Assembly of Rajasthan.
Senior leaders of Punjab BJP had demanded disciplinary action from the Delhi-based party high command. A complaint has been registered at Chandigarh Police Station Sector 39 (Punjab BJP Office Area). Sandeep Dayma’s speech was mentioned in the complaint.
Shiromani Gurdwara Committee also protested
Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee Secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal, while protesting after the speech of the BJP leader, also remembered the sacrifice of Sikhs for Sanatan Dharma. Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal also opposed BJP. Seeing the growing controversy, Sikh leaders of BJP had also asked Sandeep Dayma to apologize on this issue.
Seeing the increasing protests, Dayma released a video and apologized to the Sikh community for such remarks. In the video of the apology sent to the Shiromani Committee, Dayma said that even he did not know how these words about Gurudwaras came out of his mouth. He was talking about mosques and madrassas.
He said that he apologizes. The Sikhs who sacrificed for Sanatan Dharma cannot even think like this about them. He said that I will go to the Gurudwara and repent for my mistake.
Sunil Jakhar had demanded action
Sunil Jakhar tweeted that the Rajasthan leader’s statement against the religious sentiments of the citizens cannot be forgiven. I have informed the central leadership about the hurt caused to the people by his condemnable statement.
The state BJP unit has recommended exploring all options to ensure that such misconduct is not repeated. No apology can mitigate the hurt feelings and anger caused by this insensitive comment.
Apologized after statement, expelled again
In the election meeting organized in support of BJP candidate Baba Balak Nath from Tijara Assembly, BJP leader Sandeep Dayma had given a controversial statement regarding Sikh community and Gurudwaras, after which politics has heated up. People of Sikh community were expressing their displeasure over the statement of Sandeep Dayma.
Although Sandeep Dayma has apologized for his statement, despite this, political uproar continues in Punjab regarding his statement. Captain Amarinder Singh has even demanded Sandeep Dayama to step out of the party and take legal action.
