Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Monday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of BJP’s Kankavli MLA Nitesh Rane in connection with the attempt to murder Shiv Sena worker Santosh Parab at Kankavli in Sindhudurg district. Earlier, Nitesh’s anticipatory bail application was also rejected by the Sindhudurg court.
Union minister Narayan Rane’s son Nitesh Rane approached the High Court earlier this month seeking pre-arrest bail in connection with a case registered under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC by the Kankavli police in Sindhudurg district last month. Had knocked. The case pertains to the alleged attack on a local Shiv Sena worker Santosh Parab during the campaign for Sindhudurg District Co-operative Bank elections.
The Bombay High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Manish Dalvi, who was made a co-accused with Nitesh. Actually, the Kankavli police have to seize two mobiles from Nitesh Rane and one mobile of the private secretary. Police say that the attackers who attacked Santosh Parab were in contact with Nitesh Rane.
It is a matter of relief for Nitesh Rane that after the consent of the state government, there has been a consolation regarding the arrest that Nitesh Rane will not be arrested till January 27. However, Nitesh Rane will now challenge this decision of the High Court in the Supreme Court.
