New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma has said that he intends to close down all madrassas in the state. He also said that he has already closed 600 madrassas.
news agency ANI According to sources, while addressing a rally in Belagavi in the poll-bound Karnataka, Chief Minister Sharma said, ‘People from Bangladesh come to Assam and pose a threat to our civilization and culture. I have closed 600 madrassas and I intend to close all madrassas because we do not want madrassas. We want schools, colleges and universities.
During this, Sharma also emphasized on the idea of Hindu unity and pride and lashed out at the Congress party.
He said, ‘There are many people in our country who proudly say they are Muslim, Christian and I have no problem with that, but we need a person who can proudly say I am a Hindu. . India needs such a person today.

Sharma claimed that the Congress represents the ‘new Mughals of today’.
He said, ‘Congress is today’s new Mughal. They have objection to Ram Mandir… why? Are they children of Mughals? They support Babri Masjid, but why never speak in favor of Ram Mandir.
He said, ‘Leftist historians have wrongly portrayed that Aurangzeb ruled the whole of India. But today we need to rewrite history. We have to tell that Shivaji Maharaj was 100 times more powerful than the Mughal ruler.
The Chief Minister of Assam further said that he wants to tell the Left and the Congress that Indian history is not defined by Aurangzeb. It is not related to Babur. It belongs to leaders like Shivaji, Guru Gobind Singh.
Elections in Karnataka are due soon, although the dates are yet to be announced.
In Assam, Himanta Biswa Sharma has often spoken about the perceived threat posed by illegal immigrants. Critics believe that this is a way to stir up feelings against Bengali Muslims.
In January this year, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma had said that teachers from outside Assam who teach in madrassas will have to attend police stations regularly. He also said that the Assam Police is working with Muslims to “rationalize” madrasa education.
