Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath has resigned from the membership of the Legislative Council. Yogi Adityanath had sent his resignation to the Legislative Council Chairman after being elected MLA from Gorakhpur, which has been accepted.
In a notification issued by Rajesh Singh, Principal Secretary, Legislative Council, it has been said that the post of Yogi Adityanath in the Legislative Council will be considered vacant from March 22. CM Yogi was elected a member of the Legislative Council in September 2017.
It is noteworthy that after becoming the Chief Minister in 2017, Yogi Adityanath was elected as a member of the Legislative Council. At that time he was the MP from Gorakhpur. In such a situation, he resigned from the post of MP and on 8 September 2017 the Legislative Council elections were won unopposed. He completed the tenure of CM post while being MLC.
Let us tell you that in the UP assembly elections, BJP has once again been successful in retaining power. In the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, BJP has won 273 seats, while Samajwadi Party has got 125 seats. Congress got two seats and Bahujan Samaj Party got one seat. Meanwhile, preparations for the swearing-in of Yogi Adityanath are in full swing. Yogi Adityanath will take oath as the Chief Minister for the second consecutive time on March 25. According to the information received from the sources, this time apart from Keshav Prasad Maurya, there may be another Deputy CM from SC society.
Yogi Adityanath’s swearing-in program will be held on March 25 at Ekana Stadium on Shaheed Path in Lucknow. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP National President JP Nadda and many senior leaders and Union ministers are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
