    Yeti Narasimhanand arrested for making derogatory remarks against women

    Hardline Hindutva leader Narasimhanand has been arrested in September last year for making derogatory remarks against women. Narasimhanand has been one of the organizers of the ‘Dharma Sansad’ held in Haridwar last month, which allegedly called for massacre of Muslims along with giving hate speeches against them.

    New Delhi: Hardline Hindutva leader Yeti Narasimhanand Giri has been arrested in Haridwar. Uttarakhand City Superintendent of Police Swatantra Kumar Singh informed about it.

    However, this arrest has not happened for allegedly making hate speeches against Muslims and calling for their genocide at the Dharma Sansad held in Haridwar last month.

    Uttarakhand Police has issued a statement saying that Narasimhanand has been arrested for making derogatory remarks against women.

    These cases against Narasimhanand are pending since September 2021. At that time the police had registered three FIRs against Narasimhanand, including sections 505 (1) (c) (intent to incite), 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 504 (intent to outrage the peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Cases were registered under section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the IT Act, 506 (criminal intimidation).

    Then in a video viral on social media, Yeti Narasimhanand was seen sitting in the temple premises and making objectionable remarks about the relations of Hindu women with men of other religions.

    Last month, December 2021, Yeti Narasimhanand has been one of the organizers of the Parliament of Religions held in Haridwar city of Uttarakhand. In which many religious leaders had talked about their genocide with allegedly making inflammatory speeches against Muslims.

    Narasimhanand himself had announced in that event that he would give a reward of one crore rupees to the person who became ‘Hindu Prabhakaran’.

    Along with Prabhakaran, Narasimhanand also mentioned two leaders of the Khalistani separatist movement – ​​Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and Shabeg Singh. Singh was Bhindranwale’s military advisor and played a major role in the formation of the ‘Mukti Vahini Sena’, which supported Bangladesh during the 1971 war.

    Narasimhanand then said, ‘I say we need Prabhakaran, Bhindranwale and General Shabeg Singh. Unless there is a Prabhakaran, a Bhindranwale and a Shabeg Singh in every Hindu temple, Hinduism will not survive, there will be no one to save it.

    Uttarakhand Police has arrested Waseem Rizvi, now known as Jitendra Narayan Tyagi, following public outcry over the failure of the police in Haridwar Dharma Sansad case. This is the first arrest in this case.

    At that time the police had also issued notices against Yeti Narasimhanand and Sadhvi Annapurna under Section 41A of CrPC.

    According to NDTV, in a video taken during Tyagi’s arrest, Narasimhanand was heard telling the police, ‘You all will die.’ He had said, ‘I am with him in all three matters, has he done it alone?’

    In a viral video after Tyagi’s arrest, Narasimhanand had said, ‘We have no faith in the Supreme Court and the Constitution. This constitution is the book of killing 100 crore Hindus. Those who believe in it will be killed. Those who believe in this system… Police, Politicians and Army, they will die like dogs.

    According to the Indian Express news, Narasimhanand, the priest of Dasna temple in Ghaziabad, was on a hunger strike at Sarvanand Ghat in Haridwar to protest against the arrest of Tyagi.

    Narasimhanand also had a dispute with a journalist in the day before his arrest. According to a senior police officer, another FIR has been registered against Narasimhanand on the complaint of the journalist.

    After the arrest of Narasimhanand, his supporters had gathered outside the police station late on Saturday (January 15). According to the police, mild force had to be used to remove them.

    Two FIRs have been registered against 15 people in Haridwar ‘Dharma Sansad’ case. The first FIR was registered in this regard on 23 December 2021 after the controversy over the video of this event went viral, in which only Jitendra Narayan Singh Tyagi was named. Before leaving Islam and adopting Hinduism, Tyagi’s name was Wasim Rizvi.

    The names of Swami Dharamdas and Sadhvi Annapurna alias Pooja Shakun Pandey were added to the FIR on 25 December 2021. Pooja Shakun Pandey is the Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjani Akhara and General Secretary of Hindu Mahasabha.

    After this, on January 1, the names of Yeti Narasimhanand and Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj of Roorkee were included in this FIR.

    On January 2, the state’s Director General of Police had also constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. After that, on January 3, a second FIR was registered against 10 people in connection with the Parliament of Religions.

    In the second FIR, the organizers of the event, Yeti Narasimhanand Giri, Jitendra Narayan Tyagi (earlier known as Wasim Rizvi), Sagar Sindhuraj Maharaj, Dharamdas, Parmanand, Sadhvi Annapurna, Anand Swaroop, Ashwini Upadhyay, Suresh Chavan and Prabodhanand Giri were named. Has been done.
