Weather Alert: There is good news for the people on the weather front. The wait for monsoon in North and West India seems to be over now. Due to the activation of many weather systems, many parts of the country including Delhi are receiving good rains. At the same time, rain is expected in Delhi and adjoining areas for the next 5 days. The wait for the areas where the monsoon has not yet reached is about to end soon. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest will cover the entire country by July 6, while its normal date is July 8.
According to MID, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over central parts of Pakistan and adjoining areas of Northwest Punjab. The East West Trough is extending from Punjab to West Central Bay of Bengal across South Odisha coast across Haryana, South Uttar Pradesh, Northeast Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and South Odisha. An offshore trough is extending from North Maharashtra Coast to South Karnataka Coast at mean sea level.
According to the Meteorological Department, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. At the same time, monsoon has advanced in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana. Significantly, the monsoon has already reached in most of the states of the country including Odisha and Karnataka, Kerala. It is raining well in these states.
Delhi received its first monsoon rain on Thursday and the wait for the monsoon is over. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain in Delhi for the next 5 days from today. Due to which the weather will remain pleasant in the areas around Delhi-NCR and the temperature will also drop.
According to Skymet Weather, Western parts of Madhya Pradesh, parts of Southwest Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is possible over parts and parts of North Kerala. Light to moderate rain may occur at one or two places over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, parts of Haryana, Delhi and South Chhattisgarh. Light rain may occur at one or two places over Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep. Light rain is possible over rest of the country except West Rajasthan and Kutch.
