New Delhi: North India including the national capital Delhi is witnessing the havoc of cold winters. Due to the rain in the past, the temperature has dropped, which is continuing the outbreak of cold wave. Rain is also being seen in Southern India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain warning in some areas.
The IMD on Saturday warned of dense to very dense fog in some areas of Northwest India during the next 3-4 days. Similar conditions are likely to prevail in western Uttar Pradesh as well. In a detailed bulletin, the weather forecasting agency predicted light to moderate rain in several states, while dense fog lashed the states of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
It said that there is a possibility of rain in Coastal Andhra Pradesh during January 16 to 17. Over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and Kerala during next 4-5 days.
There is also a possibility of rain in Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal on Saturday. Apart from these, the department has predicted thunderstorms over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh on January 16 on Saturday.
In the northeast, rain is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on 15th and over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next two days. Apart from this, showers have been predicted over the Western Himalayan region during January 16-19.
As per the forecast, dense fog is very likely to occur at isolated places over West Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours and at isolated places during subsequent 3 days.
Apart from this, dense to very dense fog is very likely to occur over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan during next 2 days.
Over East Uttar Pradesh during next 4 days and over Odisha and Jharkhand during 18-20 January. During the next 2 days, there is a possibility of cold weather at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
