New Delhi: In North India including the national capital Delhi, the period of severe winter is going on these days, due to which normal life is being affected. Traffic is facing problems due to dense fog. Rain is being recorded in some parts of South India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain warning in some areas of the country.
According to the IMD, cold wave conditions have been predicted at isolated places over Northeast Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and West Madhya Pradesh in the next three days. The IMD has said in its forecast that light to moderate rain is likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Friday.
Apart from this, there is a possibility of light or moderate rain at isolated places over Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh in the next two days. Very heavy rain is likely over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is very likely to occur over Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Odisha during the day.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday. Thereafter, it is likely to reduce significantly with isolated rains on January 14 and 15.
There is a possibility of scattered rain over Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till January 15.
Under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over southwest Bay of Bengal and another lower tropospheric level over South Tamil Nadu, isolated rains are expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, and Kerala and Mahe for five days.
Apart from this, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in the high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on Friday. During the next two days, cold day conditions will prevail over isolated parts of Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and North Rajasthan.
