Hobart: Australian cricketers Scott Boland and Cameron Green performed brilliantly to guide the hosts to a 4-0 Ashes series win over England with a 142-run win. On the third day of the fifth match at Blundstone Arena, England were all out for 124 after being 68/0. Green and Boland took three wickets each to help Australia secure a big win against England.
Boland said, “Very happy and excited to win the Ashes. For me personally too, because I did well at my home ground in Melbourne. Every time I hit the boundary I got a lot of support. So much to see that. It was nice.”
Boland, who made his Test debut in Melbourne, took 18 wickets in three Ashes matches at an average of 9.55.
Asked about the change in playing Test and domestic matches, Boland commented, “Debuting after 10 years of first-class cricket, all my teammates texted me and congratulated me. The difference with first-class cricket is that it It’s a different game mentally. So, I need to freshen up in the next few days.”
Green was playing his second Test series after making his debut against India in the opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide in 2020.
He performed all-round in the Ashes. He scored 228 runs with the bat at an average of 32.57, including two half-centuries and also took 13 wickets at an average of 15.76.
